Poulan Pro PP125 17-Inch 25cc 2-Cycle Gas Powered Straight Shaft String Trimmer With Split Shaft

Poulan Pro PP125 17-Inch 25cc 2-Cycle Gas Powered Straight Shaft String Trimmer With Split Shaft Review

My Poulan Pro pp125 arrived quickly and has worked great! It starts easily, idles perfectly, and with the Tanaka Quiet line I bought at Amazon it cuts really well. I live in Hawai`i on 2 acres and am using it to cut the Guinea Grass which is 4 feet high and quite tough, but the trimmer is doing the job. I thought I would need a brush cutter, but that isn't the case. I think the Poulan Pro pp125 is an excellent value, and with free shipping a great deal!

I bought the following items at Amazon along with the Poulan Pro pp125:
Tanaka 746570 Quiet Trimmer Line, .095-Inch x 285'
Tanaka Perfect Mix 2-Stroke Oil 6.4 oz. Bottle - 6 Pack #700207
Dewalt DPG55-11C Clear Anti-Fog Protective Safety Glasses with Dual-Injected Rubber Frame and Temples

Before buying the pp125 I read all the reviews, which I found quite helpful. What I found was that the negative reviews were mainly from people that had problems with the engine stalling when accelerating the engine. The one star review titled "Not as Good as I Hoped" by Araxiel is the one that got me thinking. In it he says "A worker who was doing repairs on a neighbor's house comes over and tells me that my problem with stalling is that my oil/gas mixture has too much oil." In a Comment he wrote "Update: I took the advice of the worker who recommended adding some gas to the tank to reduce the percent of oil in the mix. I put in about 4 ounces and lo and behold, the trimmer ran perfectly." He now has the pp125 rated 4 stars!

I am using the Tanaka Perfect Mix oil at a 50:1 ratio as recommended and it works great. On the Tanaka website, in their FAQ section, I found that the gas to oil ratio should be what the oil manufacturer has listed, and not what the manufacturer of the engine has listed. A part of one of the answers has "there are 16:1, 25:1, 32:1, 40:1 42:1, 50:1, etc. However, if you analyzed these oils, you'd find very similar amounts of the actual ingredients needed to provide the life allowing lubricity (even at these odd ratios)." This means if you take 50:1 oil and mix it at 40:1 there will be too much oil in the mix, so we need to make sure we are mixing the oil and gas as the oil manufacturer lists. I don't know what oil Araxiel was using but I think this is very important information!

I contacted Poulan Pro and asked about the oil ratio and received the response "Any good two stroke air cooled not water cool will work. 40/1 is OK." I wrote back providing the link to the Tanaka FAQ I have listed above and also wrote "A 40:1 ratio when using Tanaka Perfect Mix is not appropriate." He replied with "Thanks I will send this on to the engr. group."

thanks - Gregory H. Aptt - fl,usa
I purchased this trimmer to replace an old one that was more work than what it was worth. I also have not even started this one up as of yet, but have great faith it will perform well.

Dissastified - Discover -
This is the worse trimer I've purchased.
I could not get it started, therefore,I called Homelite and based on my discription of the problem it was determined that the carburator needed adjustment.
They refered me to a local repair shop who replaced the carburator with a new one, after they kept it from 7/22/09 to 8/14/09(24 days)
Now after pulling the starter grip approx.14 or 15 times it does start.
Needless to say I'm very dissastified with this product, which I will not recomend to anyone.

Not happy with this product. - H. Cain - South Dakota
First pull and the cable came all the way out and we had to take it apart to put back. After that we couldn't get it started. We purchased a Poulon and just wrote it off as a loss.

Fully Automatic Concrete

Fully automatic gas nailers for concrete are the fastest ways to solve the concrete. Fully automated tools are available from Hilti, powers and Rams. These tools were originally designed to monitor the cement fixing drywall, hence the name "Trakfast" and "Trak", but they have become useful tools for many different trades What are these standards different nail gun powder actuated tools for concrete correct what can be used?

Basic Principles of Gas Tools

Tools gases are essentially internal combustion engine with a cylinder, piston, spark plug, fuel source and a source of ignition. Both Ramses and drums, while the use of work tools without Hilti. When you press the tool against the work surface, a measure of fuel is injected into the cylinder and pull the trigger, a spark lights the fuel, the piston and turn the setting.

Most of the instruments in a magazinecelebration of the 40 pins that you can take almost as fast as you pull the trigger. Some tools, such as Ramses T3 SS tool used in one shot with a unique variety of pines and assemblies, such as EMT and belt clip ceiling.

Gas uses tools

As mentioned above, a section of drywall is the most common use of these tools. Consider other uses of these tools. Waterproofing membrane for foundations. For electrical work, cabling EMT, the roofclips and hooks. With the variety of pins available, the general contracting bands can pull up to the mark, Powers C-4 has the tools to cut a 2 x 4, Ramses has a PIN that is fired up blocks of heavy plywood. Stucco Contractors and turning tool can be used to install metal lathe by a metal disk that mounts on the stem of the instrument.

Distinct advantages

Besides the speed of these tools, you can find some advantages over instruments of dustfixing to concrete. Unlike dust instruments, these tools do not require certification. Do not get me wrong, you can always enter a PIN code in hand, but not required by the operators of cards. You can not overdrive these instruments have an internal stop to prevent it. Not to select different levels of power tools and dust. For the most part, are free from problems. In theory, you can put pins in 20,000 without service. This amount decreases with the difficult questions, such as use of outdoorabsence of regular use.

Finally ......

Because of their cost, these instruments may not be for everyone, but I always thought that any tool that allows you to save money is a free, after a job or two and who does not love free tools?

Poulan Pro PP325 17-Inch 25cc 2-Cycle Gas Powered Straight Shaft String Trimmer/Brush Cutter With Split Shaft

Poulan Pro PP325 17-Inch 25cc 2-Cycle Gas Powered Straight Shaft String Trimmer/Brush Cutter With Split Shaft Review

Purchased from Amazon.com with free shipping. Drop ships from manufacturer. Trimmer is well-assembled and has a large fuel tank. It ships with the straight-shaft trimmer mounted and the blade/blade shield neatly included. Switching to the blade head is quick enough, but you need some elbow grease and the provided wrench. The string is pre-cut, and is of odd size. The line is stiff, but not unworkable. It cuts like mad and will slice through most weeds and vines that thinner stuff won't touch. Go ahead and purchase the extra line now--it only comes with 5 pieces and one 1-gallon 40:1 mixer.
Attaching the trimmer guard and J-handle was quick enough, but pay attention to which particular threads you are using on each of the bolts. The coarser threads are intended for the handle bracket and your own Allen wrench will come in handy.
Initial starting was almost exactly per the instruction book, and the carb seems fairly flood-resistant. It wanted to cough at first, but let the self-locking throttle hold for 10 seconds and it will quickly come up to speed. Do not hold the throttle or over-pump the carb and pull sharply. It will reward you with quick starts. Performance is awesome at any throttle speed above one-quarter, and this Poulan really cuts well at about half throttle. The engine is tuned hot and it revs quickly with great torque, despite the flexible driveshaft. Noise supression from the unobstrusive muffler is good and heat shielding is also good. Decent throttle response and fuel economy as well, but be ready to replace the line frequently if you trim in heavy weeds or against concrete or brick. Line changes, fortunately, are fast once you get the hang of it. Overall, a great bargain at 0, especially considering the brush cutter is included. More than adequate for any large residence--highly recommended.

waste of money,junk - Napoleon Magnant -
I bought this new. I took it out of the box, assembled it, then started it. But now the trimmer does not spin. Never wored once ! I have taken it to a repair shop and have been waiting 2 weeks. They have to order parts. I had to pay .80 for them to look at it. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I will say that it did start up nice.

You will be disappointed with the package - Howard Davis - Salem, Utah USA
Poulan is a good brand, but this particular package is very disappointing. I thought when I ordered this product the Poulan Pro 17-Inch 25cc Gas-Powered Trimmer/Brush Cutter #PP325 9.99 that I was getting both the Poulan Pro 17-Inch 25cc Gas Powered String Trimmer #PP125 9.99 and the Poulan Pro Brush Cutter Trimmer Attachment #PP4000C .50 in one package and saving .50 by buying them in a combination package. However this package does not contain the brush cutter trimmer attachment. Instead it only contains the brush cutter blade and head. A second lower shaft assembly with the quick connect is NOT included in this package. So you have to actually take the brush cutter blade and head off with an allen wrench and reassemble it as a string trimmer when you want to change functions. Order the two items separately and you will be much happier with what you get, because you will be able to easily switch attachments using the quick connector. (The prices I listed are the current prices at the time I ordered).

Disappointed but still a good trimmer - P. Rhegness - Southeast
I bought this thinking I would be able to quickly switch between the trimmer attachment and the brush blade. You can, but this only comes with a single attachment shaft so you have to the allen wrench and another wrench to make the switch. I was expecting two shafts, one for each attachment.

Mine does not like to have the throttle above halfway. It will sputter and try to die in thick grass but quickly speeds up when I move it away for a moment. If I squeeze the throttle all the way it will die. I am constantly having to feather the throttle to keep the RPM up enough to cut effectively but not high enough to make it turn off.

While it runs it does a fantastic job. The string is very easy to change and the brush cutter makes quick work of small vines and the stuff too thick for the trimmer. The is no kickback when using the brush cutter and I feel safe while cutting.

I will look for a second attachment shaft so I can quickly move from trimmer to cutter without having to break out the tools and stop working.

Use a fire extinguisher

Use a fire extinguisher

Walking around any public building, you should notice extinguishers scattered in the walls of the rooms and corridors. Each state has developed building codes that require public bodies to have certain fire safety standards in force. In addition to specifying the number of smoke detectors, sprinklers for residential needs, and the number of exits in a building, these rules also determine the number and location ofextinguishers inside.

As a civilian, you should familiarize yourself with the fire extinguisher, use of the base. Some employers will be implemented through training of their employees on fire safety, especially if there is an opportunity to be in a situation where they need to know how to extinguish a fire. However, many people do not give this type of education and therefore do not know how to properly handle a fire extinguisher. Armed with this knowledge is important, however. You never know whenneed to use these devices to keep a small fire becoming a tragic fire.

Types extinguishers

First, be aware that there are actually four different types of fire extinguishers, which fall within the classification from A to D. There is so because the basic ingredients of extinction - like water - can not extinguish fires determined.

Class A: Used in the fire, whose sources are fuels such as wood or plastic
KindB: Used in the fire, whose sources are flammable liquids such as gas
Class C: The use of electric lights
Class D: is used in case of fires caused by combustible metals

Remember: Only use an extinguisher to put out their specific types of fires. Not doing so could make things worse, making the call to respond and dissemination.

How to use a fire extinguisher

There is a basic rule you should remember when headed to a fire extinguisher to putFire: PASS. This logo represents the next series of events:

Pull The Pin extinguisher
Aim the extinguisher at the base of the flame
Squeeze the lever
Sweep the nozzle from left to right by a fire

Following these steps, you're fighting the fire more efficiently and a higher probability of extinction of the flame.

Tanaka TBC-240PF 23-cc 1-1/2-HP 2-Stroke Engine Straight Shaft Grass Trimmer (CARB Compliant)

Tanaka TBC-240PF 23-cc 1-1/2-HP 2-Stroke Engine Straight Shaft Grass Trimmer (CARB Compliant) Review

FINALLY, a trimmer that I'm very happy with ... my Tanaka 240PF!

I tried several different brand trimmers, Sears Craftsman professional model (0), a Ryobi from Home Depot (7), Echo, Stihl, and a few others. I usually buy Husqvarna products, but not this time.

This Tanaka trimmer is amazing. It trims weeds as if they are made of butter with it barely running above idle! So far, I haven't needed to run it past 50% throttle! This is also the quietest trimmer I've ever used. You can actually carry on a normal conversation without raising your voice, while it's running. (if needed)

The bumper feed works so silky smooth that I wasn't sure it was feeding string at all - but it was! Because I never saw the string get shorter, I assumed there was a problem. No problem at all! I had bought the "no brainer" optional spooler, but I see no reason to use it because the standard spool is flawless.

I suppose that after experiencing past trimmers, including all the headaches, I wasn't used to a trimmer that actually works properly. This Tanaka is certainly in a different class, a commercial grade without a doubt.

Before I bought this Tanaka, I did read the other reviews regarding a few problems and complaints of it being made in China instead of Japan. Personally, I'm glad I ignored these comments.

The only criticism I have is - the gas cap leaks slowly if the trimmer is not level, whether you stand/hang it vertically or if you lay it down. It simply cannot be set down or hung tilted to one side. I can deal with this minor oversight.

As a summary and in my opinion, this trimmer is the best. I felt obligated to leave a review because there were only 2 reviews present. I hope mine has helped you make a decision.
Cheers, Jeff

Well engineered - R. Mcintire - Los Angeles, CA USA
I'm a homeowner with a large yard, both hillside and level. What I wanted was a high end homeowner/entry level commercial trimmer and that's what I got. I am very satisfied with the Tanaka. I tried out Shindawa (T242 as a matter of fact), a number of Echo's, Husquevarnas, and Stihls. For my purposes the Tanaka balanced better, and felt as light or lighter, than the others. All of which are good.

A commercial dealer told me the Tanaka's don't break down and that Tanaka has trouble making money since they don't sell that many parts. You judge.

First chance I got I put it together (btw, no shipping damage from Amazon--of course they'd cover it anyway) and took it into the yard to test on 2-3 ft grass (foxtails, wild oat, alfalfa, others) mixed with woody weeds, 1/2" average diameter. Don't know the name, but tough stuff. Leaf shaped like a geranium. The Tanaka just took them out, didn't bog down at all. When I when into some really thick stuff I had to slow down a bit. But it took it all out. Including some dead birch branches, maybe 1/4 to 1/2", I hadn't cleaned up yet.

Oh yeah. It has a 2 year commercial use warranty. 3 yr home use.

So far so good. If I have problems I'll report back.

Not a great choice - Thomas Hargis Jr. - Balto.MD
I had two of these shipped and both times they were damaged from the factory in the box. After inspection I also noticed this is made in China, not Japan like most other Tanaka stuff. Don't waste your time like I did, spend the extra and get a Shindawa T242. This unit would never make it in the real world.

Drill Makita 18V Lithium-Ion Battery

Makita 18v lithium ion for two different wireless drill, including BDF451 and BDF452. Although it has many similar characteristics, the two exercises are very variable, including a price difference of $ 100. The BDF451 is blue, while the BDF452 is white, but is the least of their differences. To facilitate comparison, let us call them by their color rather than their model number.

First, the blue is designed for owners and entrepreneurs at the bottom, while the blue is more expensivedesigned for professionals who use Drills on a regular basis. The differences and price differences are evident.

The watt-hour battery included varies considerably. The Blue uses 3 batteries Ah at 18 V, which gives 54 hours Watt, while the white blood cells of 1.5 Ah at 18 V for 27 hours watts. Execution time in blue is the double double that of white, including batteries cheaper to fit a price of Value Line. The chargers are also different. Although both havefans, the Blue's charger uses an optimum temperature controller to produce a more even charge.

The White uses a two-speed transmission, while the Blue uses a three-speed one. The resulting difference is a 450 versus 560 torque rating between the two models.

Both models offer the typical Makita high quality and durability, so how and how much you plan to use the drill will determine which model is appropriate for you. For the homeowner or casual user, the White is a great choice, offering a step forward compared to models of 18V Ni-Cad, while professionals will appreciate the task longer and a high torque rating of nowhere.

Factory Reconditioned Weed Eater FX26 16-Inch 25cc 2-Stroke Gas Powered Curved Shaft String Trimmer Overview
This is a weedeater I bought for home and my boys lawn service. When it arrived it ran rough. I quickly found out that the spark plug had broken in transit. After replacing the spark plug it ran great. I like the simple operation. It starts well, much better than a Ryobi I purchased for twice as much.

Ryobi RY30 String Trimmer Review

I paid $ 99 for a Home RY30530 Ryobi lawn trimmer at depot. The main reason why I picked it up was that I did not want a wimpy electric model and the top of the line trimmer was more than I wanted to pay.

There were 5 or 6 parts to assemble, but it was easy and I did not need to use the instruction book. It started easily and it worked well for about five minutes when the "head quit encounter" work. I took it apart and the tangle of string would not be easyfix. Fortunately, the trimmer is fixed trim came with a free header. I have the up and back in business for a few minutes later was. The string is very easy to insert in the fixed-head. If you get this trimmer, do yourself a favor and put her head'll run right into the trash and install the fixed head.

I chose the curved shaft model and the wave was a little too short for me. The 30 cc 2-cycle engine is certainly powerful enough for home use. It has always beenbegan easy for me. The engine is louder than my predecessor, and it hurt my ears at full blast. The power and noise of these trimmers makes ear and eye protection is essential. I ignored safety precautions with less powerful trimmer, but I do not want this machine. The plastic, where the shaft meets the engine is very hot and gave me his arm a slight burn. The directions do not say that cause when starting the engine to squeeze, but that the only way I could start it iswhen it is hot. This is not a problem if you know the trick.

There is an option to facilities such as a blower, edger add, and breeders, but I have not tried these.

Overall, the Ryobi is RY30530 is a fair value for the money. I will take care not to burn my arm on the engine mounting point. I wish Robi would make the engine quieter and the shaft a few inches longer. I would probably be the straight shank, if I got another of these.
