Factory Reconditioned Weed Eater SST25 17-Inch 25cc 2-Stroke Gas Powered Straight Shaft String Trimmer

Factory Reconditioned Weed Eater SST25 17-Inch 25cc 2-Stroke Gas Powered Straight Shaft String Trimmer Review

Container was a bit beat up. Items where tumbling free inside. Grass fragments found on shield. In spite of my initial impression, it operates perfectly. The double string spool and angular profile string cut much better than my last weedeater. What a deal!

Piece of Junk!! Run away from this Deal! - Michael A. Nilson - Chicago, IL
I purchased this after owning another Weed Eater for over 10 years. It seemed like a great deal, and maybe it is if you get one that works. I sent mine back twice. The first time it would not run at all. The second time it would die when you released the trigger. The whole ordeal was very frustrating from start to finish. I ended up buying an Echo SRM-225 for 0 from a local dealer. I am glad I did, and should have done that in the first place. I want to rate it Zero stars, but the review process does not let me do that so I gave it one star.

had to have carburator adjusted - J. Dunn -
This didn't work when I first got it...had to pay someone to adjust the carburater.

What happened to quality control? - M. Byers -
My shopping experiences with Amazon are usually first rate. This one was not.

My Weed Eater arrived in a large box - with no packing material. It is designed to be tough but I would expect something to keep it from banging around in transit.

When I fueled it up, the machine was very hard to start and then wouldn't run with any speed - it died whenever I reved the engine. The second time I started it, I noticed my finger was getting wet when I pumped the primer bulb - it turned out the bulb was split. After two starts, it simply would not run or even attempt to start.

I took the Weed Eater to a local implements shop to get a new primer bulb. They found that the fuel line was dry rotted and had broken and the primer bulb was dry rotted.

I got it fixed but would have been better off and would have saved money had I just bought a new unit.

This unit had grease pencil markings on it, so someone looked at it but they didn't look much.

I bough a reconditioned chain saw from Amazon at the same time. It never started and required service at a local shop.

I will never again buy a reconditioned item from Amazon and caution anyone considering this to understand that two out of two is a perfect bad record.
